Dance & Erica Trivett
My interest in how we learn movement and dance expression began when I was learning and dancing in contemporary and classical ballet.
Throughout my dance career, often I had to think about adjusting my movements to accommodate an injury and had to work on finding ways to prevent further dysfunction or injury. This brought me to the Feldenkrais Method® and to my current Osteopathic studies.
I offer workshops and private sessions for people (from novice to professional) to further one's awareness of the better functioning of the body.
The Feldenkrais Method uses learning in the way that babies learn: through exploring movement and sensing the environment, in order to get whatever it is we most want out of life. For a baby that may be reaching for a toy and bringing it to the mouth, but for an adult, that may be learning to play a sport better, becoming a better actor or dancer, living a pain-free life, increasing productivity at work, or finding harmony at home. Many students of the Feldenkrais Method® find their physical and non-physical problems spontaneously disappearing as they increase their self-awareness.
Osteopathy is a natural medicine whose objective is to re-establish proper body functions by treating causes of pain and dysfunctions. It is a medicine of the causes, a science and a philosophy of the Human Being.
Osteopathy is a science based on the knowledge of interactions between systems and mechanisms that stabilize, produce and ensure the equilibrium of physiology and health. Since its beginnings in 1902 at the A.T. Still Research Institute, university research in Osteopathy has developed in many countries.
